The Islamic Relief and Research Trust Kashmir (IRRTK) provides financial aid to students from low-income and orphaned backgrounds, supporting their pursuit of higher education in fields like medicine, engineering, business, and IT, as well as general degrees.
To ensure secure transactions, IRRTK distributes scholarships via account payee cheques. School-going children from disadvantaged backgrounds also receive assistance for their education, helping them continue their studies. By empowering underserved youth, IRRTK promotes access to education and fosters a brighter future for these students.

Founded in 2011, Darul Ehsan is IRRTK’s dedicated orphanage for boys, providing a secure home, modern education, healthcare, counseling, and support for moral and physical growth.
Initially based in Kralapora, the orphanage moved to Usmania Colony, Bagi Mehtab, in 2018 to expand its facilities and accommodate more children.

IRRTK’s orphan sponsorship program supports 30 orphaned children by providing financial assistance for their education and basic needs. Additionally, individual donors sponsor other orphans, and IRRTK is actively working to expand the program to reach more children in need.
In partnership with Mercy Corps USA, the Islamic Relief and Research Trust Kashmir (IRRTK) has supported 1,200 families in District Shopian and District Budgam to enhance their livelihoods through potato seed production.
Participants also receive guidance on financial planning and bank connections to ensure sustainable agricultural growth.

IRRTK also hosts MSW students from IGNOU University for internships, providing them with valuable field experience.
Established in 2012, Darul Mushint, a female orphanage located in Singpora Pattan, initially operated from a rented building. From the start, we focused on providing essential amenities, including quality education, moral guidance, and physical training for all residents.
In 2016, with generous support from donor Haji Gh. Mohammad Dar, we acquired and renovated a two-story building, adding a fully equipped, modern kitchen. Ongoing construction efforts aim to further enhance facilities, creating a nurturing environment. Currently, the orphanage is home to 21 girls, where we arrange regular tour programs and counseling sessions to support their growth and development.
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Zuha, the Trust organized the Qurbani (sacrifice) of sheep, generously funded by the Islamic Guidance Centre in Calicut, Kerala. The meat from the sacrifice was distributed by Trust volunteers to registered beneficiaries and other needy individuals within the community.
This initiative aimed to share the blessings of Eid with underprivileged families, fostering a spirit of compassion and unity.
IRRT Kashmir has extended financial support to deserving, hardworking individuals, enabling them to establish income-generating ventures to support their livelihoods.
Additionally, sewing machines were distributed to underprivileged and orphaned girls trained in tailoring, empowering them to set up tailoring units in their communities and work towards financial independence.
The Several years ago, the Trust established a school in Singpora Pattan, offering education up to the 8th grade for underprivileged and orphaned students. Originally set up in a rented building, the school expanded this year with additional space added next to the original facility to accommodate more students.
The school is dedicated to providing quality, modern education to empower its students academically and personally.
To showcase the Trust's activities and raise awareness among the public on social issues and moral values, a radio program called Pertow was broadcast on Radio Kashmir Srinagar.
The Trust held its Annual Day celebrations at Lala Rukh Hotel in Srinagar, where the annual report was unveiled, and scholarships were awarded to underprivileged and orphaned students. Marriage kits were distributed to support orphaned and low-income girls, while sewing machines were provided to deserving young women trained in tailoring, helping them establish income-generating businesses.
Additionally, the Trust presented annual awards to individuals who had made outstanding contributions in their respective fields.
To establish an effective and sustainable Zakat system in the state, the Trust has set up a dedicated Zakat Center at its Head Office. This center focuses on raising awareness about the importance of paying Zakat, while also collecting and distributing Zakat contributions to support those in need.
As part of this initiative, the Trust offers essential support to orphaned and impoverished girls to help them with marriage expenses. This assistance includes providing marriage kits and other necessary items to ease the financial burden on their families.
In 2018, a significant milestone was reached when 62 girls were supported through this program, enabling them to begin a new chapter in their lives with dignity and hope. The program continues to expand, driven by the Trust's commitment to uplifting underprivileged girls and fostering a strong sense of community care and responsibility.
